Earlier yesterday the County Government of Lamu held a consultative meeting with representatives of MUHURI, Lamu Chapter who petitioned the county on a host of issues. While addressing the meeting, H.E the DG reiterated Governor Fahims vision of addressing the water challenges in Mokowe and Lamu County in general. He noted that the County has partnered with Coast Water Services through Equalization Fund to carry out water works in Mokowe. Further the Governor has signed a PPP MOU to set an 11,000 cubic meters desalination plant in Mokowe. Additionally, the county has advertised for a feasibility study for the Tana River to Lamu water project. MUHURI hailed the Governor for the outlined water projects that will alleviate water problems in Lamu.
